Hey guys
Right at the final stages of looking to put an order in and trying to decide between the Macan and Macan S. This site has been super useful to read through and help with decisions etc. Quick question on fuel consumption as it’ll be the first one I own. Whilst you can read about the MPG stats, how are you guys finding the MPG as owners as we’ll be using it as an everyday car and looks thirsty from the mpg stats but are you guys finding that’s the case or is it actually alright. Would love some views.
For recent orders, was really keen to see what APR the dealer quoted you for/settled on
Fuel consumption
Petrol Macans aren’t great on fuel.
I get about 27-28 mpg from my Gen 2 S.
My Gen 1 2.0 was not a lot better at around 29mpg.

Hi Worley, are you talking Gen 1, 2 or 3?
What are your typical every day trips - mileage per journey, type - city, motorway, A/B/C roads?
For what it's worth my 2.9L Gen 2 GTS has averaged 25 mpg on mainly country roads with a best of 29 on a 200 mile non-stop A-road journey and a worst of 20 mpg on an 8m town slow trip.
Mpg does improve as the engine beds in, after a few thousand miles. But, hey it's a Porsche, so just enjoy it and push mpg to the background

For what it is worth with both my Macan’s I logged the fuel I put into each for a a few months.
The net result was that in both cars the MFD displays inaccurate MPG readings with it being some 10% higher than actual.
If you are worried about MPG then by a Toyota otherwise enjoy your Porsche and you will enjoy it more with the bigger engine.

Since I got my S it’s achieved a shade over 31 mpg, measured using fuel purchased. I rarely do journeys of less than 10 miles as we use an electric car for local trips. Short journeys really kill the mpg figures. On the last journey of 222 miles I was helped by 40 miles of limited speed in road works giving the result on the trip computer shown below (noting warnings about accuracy of the trip)

Over 22,088 miles I've averaged 24.7 mpg. Best tankful was 31.3 last Sunday from Sheffield to Glasgow sat on the motorway using ACC, averaging about 75 mph. Worst 19mpg over 120 miles. To be fair I do more short journeys than SmallWheels, so for sure it all depends on how you use it!

That’s not bad. I usually only get 32-34 mpg out of my mini.Neil1911 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 03, 2021 10:37 pm Over 22,088 miles I've averaged 24.7 mpg.
