You have a wise friend, they are extremely secure and the low life will move on when they spot one. Conversely, they love the hockey stick type because it gives them massive leverage to break the steering lock and they can saw through the metal bar in seconds.

Years ago people asked their local garage, auto electrician, to put a hidden switch somewhere, that interrupted one of the essential systems, that it needed to go. This doesn’t seem to happen anymore, but I’m sure it is possible.
I can remember this was part of a public information spot on TV, a long time ago.

A friend of mine used to take the rotor arm out of his distributor when leaving his car somewhere for a while, but that's not going to work these days!

My daughter has one of these on her M4 - https://trackingmycar.co.uk/product/aut ... er-system/

You can find these elsewhere on the net for around £350 fitted, so maybe a consideration? Think I may put one on mine for peace of mind.

Not heard any stories about Macans being a target for car theft. My previous Audi RS4 was a target

I have a tracker cost circa £30 identical to those for sale for £200 (UK companies buy and rebadge them eg Back2You). Three wire connection

I keep away from others in car parks

My brother couldn’t get insurance on his M2 without a tracker.

Back in the day I had a 3 door Cosworth and I used to take the steering wheel off it every night!

In the good (bad) old 80’s days when every hot-hatch was a target, I used to take the fuse out of the fuel pump relay of my Golf GTI 😁
