Hi folks,

This may be a silly question but if I have 20 inch wheels on the new Macan S then which spare collapsible wheel should I be configuring assuming I'm only choosing standard brakes.

Also whether its 18" or 19" is it really OK to drive with a odd sized wheel for any period of time or is the guidance to just get you too the nearest garage to replace the original 20" tyre?

Thanks for your help.

18" on standard brakes, the tyre wall is bigger to make up the difference to your 20s

Hopefully you will never get an puncture, miles from a mobile signal and on a very narrow lane.

Took about 1/2 hour to remove the flat, inflate and fit the collapsable spare.

Getting the full size wheel into the boot was a tad awkward, whilst trying not to get the clothes dirty.

The spec and the Law is that these are OK to use temporarily up to a maximum speed of 50 mph.

In my case I dropped off the flat at the OPC just as they were closing and then drove home very slowly.

Next day the Porsche Assist low loader collected my car to take it back to the OPC and the hire company dropped me off a Merc C 220D.

It took a week for the OPC to get a tyre and to have my car brought down to me again via the PA system.

Whilst It would not have helped in this case I did buy a couple of cans of sealant/inflator to give me options should I have another flat.

In near on fifty years of Pre-Porsche driving I had but one flat, since driving Porsche’s I have had four flats.

Is that bad luck or should we all expect a lot of flats?

I've now spec'd the 19" spare but oddly Porsche doesn't let you spec the Goo as well!
