Ken C wrote: Wed Dec 01, 2021 7:33 am Good morning all,

I thought I’ll update you all regarding my PEC experience.

To remind you all, on my day at the PEC, I was given a Macan 2.0 to drive, where on my booking it stated Macan S, same as my new order.

I had written to PEC to investigate why this was the case and after a couple of days investigating, they had found that when they entered the car license into the system to pull from their pool of cars, they had entered incorrectly one of the characters and allocated me the wrong car to me drive.

They have very kindly apologised and offered me another half day PEC experience with the Macan S.

Thank you all to those who asked me to follow up with PEC on this matter.
That's really good news and definitely the right outcome Ken, well done mate.

:D

@Ken C, good outcome… and more fun on the track.

FYI, I was at PEC this week and I requested two cars to decide on Cayman GTS with PDK vs GTS with MT. Both derivatives were made available and it was immensely useful, as I could test how I can leverage the car capabilities (or not).

From my perspective it is a fantastic professional service and opportunity to test before spec lock-down.

I had a great day out today at Silverstone. Although it was raining throughout the base Macan handled brilliantly. I am pleased to report back that the 2.0 engine had more than enough grunt and the PDK gearing matched the engine revs perfectly. I didn’t hang about on the tracks and you really did forget that the car was 2 tonnes and not a sports car. Anyone who has ordered the base Macan will not be disappointed. I would also add that the brakes are superb. On the negative side I did manage to temporarily break the car when I was on the kick plate and the car threw up two faults - the Stability control became inactive and the car lost four wheel drive ( reverted to rear wheel only ). Turning off and on a few times failed to reset and we limped back to the centre. However leaving the car for 10 mins and re starting cleared the faults and all was well again. Looking forward to receiving my car.

Cheers Simon. There must have been some very timid drivers today as I was regularly catching and overtaking 911 cars on the original handling circuit.

It did seem that there were a lot of nervous first timers at the PEC today. In the wet the Macan was in its element.

I would also add that the Pirelli P Zeros on 20” S wheels and only 3 or 4c temp were remarkably good. Never previously rated Pirelli P Zeros but today they had loads of grip.

Glad that you had fun, Mark!

It does make me chuckle though, when folks in a Macan, boast of overtaking 911s at PEC. ;)

Am sure it’s true, but loads of factors come into play. Stick equal drivers, on the same agenda, one in a Macan and one in a 911, and I think I know the outcome. :P

Simon
