Sports Chrono
On the Gen2 and Gen3 cars, the advantage SC brings is the mode wheel on the steering wheel. In say an overtaking situation when you want to change settings quickly that is far better than the buttons and the advantage of the mode wheel must increase in the Gen 3 with the centre haptic buttons being harder to hit accurately without taking eyes offroad.

Just being able to change the cars behaviour to 4 different styles (including having a personal setting) by turning the SC selector on the wheel is worth it for me.
Not used launch control in mine yet, but have used the sports response a couple of times.

Forgot about the clock with Gen 3, it wasn't standard for Gens 1 & 2.Jon A wrote: ↑Mon Dec 06, 2021 7:19 pmThanks Peter that’s helpfulOn-Track wrote: ↑Mon Dec 06, 2021 7:16 pm The only thing you don't get without Sports Chrono is "Sport +" as a PASM/gearbox/throttle mapping. However, unless you plan to take your car on track days you're unlikely to miss that.
If you don't go for SC, have a think about the compass for the centre of the dashboard. Apart from becoming a focal point, it does have a digital clock and altimeter.
Re compass you get the analogue clock anyway which given the choice I would prefer - old school

The clock’s a nice little upgrade for Gen III, I think, for those who don’t spec SC or don’t want a compass there.
Cheers,

I realise that the OP is asking about SC suspenson settings more than performance.
I just wanted to point out though that SC offers the same 0.2 second performance boost whether we are looking at 0-60, 0-100, or 0-124mph.
So what I infer is that it just gets the car off the line from a standing start 0.2 seconds quicker - and after that makes no difference to performance whatever?
All the "performance improvement" is probably delivered in the first 50 yards from standing?
I don't understand what the "boost" button on the steering wheel actually does - except maybe activate the sports exhaust and the little boost display?
It's advertised as being an overtaking aid - but surely the performance figures refuter this?
I am of course happy to be corrected

It’s quick to 60 because it optimises the launch through launch control and puts the gearbox in a more aggressive setting which you would not want on all the time

That is so true.
If anyone reading this thread has not been to the PEC then there you should get a few acceleration and braking runs on the straight.
Prior to going do ensure that the Macan you will be driving has SC fitted to it, then you will get a chance of using Launch Control on a Macan that is not your own and to say it is brutal on the transmission is not exaggerating and it is why I have never used it on my Macan’s.
