This is one of those things that you just suddenly notice after a while and then wonder whether you’re going mad and whether it never happened in the first place!
So I’m very sure that on my 2016 GTS when I’d unlock the car from the key fob the exterior (and interior) lights would switch on, ie lighting it up as I walk up to it. Suddenly today I noticed that the exterior lights aren’t switching on - only do so when I start the engine.
Same for switching off procedure. Exterior used
to stay on for around 30 seconds. Now they turn off immediately on ignition being switched off (not interior though). Have checked the menu and it’s set to 40 seconds.
The only thing I can think of is that I played with the Horseshoe lighting buttons in the dark the other day (just to get that on to read something!) … not sure if there’s a button up there that switched off the exteriors for comfort etc?!
Any help much appreciated. Wondering if it might be a low battery safety ‘feature’? Not had any warning lights on the dash though.
Coming home exterior lights suddenly stopped working
On my Gen 2 the delay on the lights is configurable within the PCM menus. Maybe something has interfered with a setting, or, maybe, just maybe, chips are now being stolen from cars and sold back to the factory!CreativeVision wrote: ↑Mon Dec 06, 2021 9:35 pm This is one of those things that you just suddenly notice after a while and then wonder whether you’re going mad and whether it never happened in the first place!

The GTK app does not mention the coming home feature having any control button on the horseshoe, just that switching on "auto lights" turns it on and there seems to be no independent switch just for the feature alone, I do find battery-saving quite aggressive on the Macan and to avoid issues leave the car at home on a CTEK charger. What is the voltage showing in the MFD say after a 15-minute journey? A 14 or 15 would indicate low battery charge issueCreativeVision wrote: ↑Mon Dec 06, 2021 9:35 pm This is one of those things that you just suddenly notice after a while and then wonder whether you’re going mad and whether it never happened in the first place!

2019 Macan S Porsche code PKW8WKI8
This was my take on it - battery saving.
Ours can be sat around without being used for a week or so and thus assume it was that and hence the unpredictable nature of it

Getting back on topic.
The light switch needs to be set in the Auto position plus there are settings in the MFD Menu that govern how the Coming Home feature functions so do check these.

We hadn’t gone off topic
The battery points are very valid as to why sometimes it works and other times it doesn’t
