Hi I I configured my macan s back in august 2021 and paid 3k deposit.
I added 21-inch GT Design wheels in Black (high-gloss) but now noticed they are no longer available ?
Can anyone advise if this is temporary as expecting a call soon to lock spec in and not really a fan of the other wheels ?
Ps the wheels are available for the Macan S if you configure the car on other country’s configurator (I.e Spain)
Thanks in advance
Macan S - 21-inch GT Design wheels
Same boat as me. The GT design wheels are now exclusive to the GTS in the UK (disappeared from the configurator for the base and S models in October) so I’ve spent the past few months agonising over which wheels to go for instead. I’m not a massive fan of any of the others either. Not one single all gloss-black option!
The sales manager at my OPC wasn’t exactly clear on what would happen to those who’d specced the wheels on their initial order form but who hadn’t locked down yet, but it seemed like the wheels won’t be honoured, so I would prepare yourself and start considering your alternative choice of wheels just in case.
I’ve ended up settling on the 21” RS Spyders.

If you're happy with the spec you created in August you could just say "no changes" when it comes to lockdown. Then you'll find out if Porsche will honour your spec. Just have an alternative wheel choice available in case they say you must change.srj8t2 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 1:47 am Hi I I configured my macan s back in august 2021 and paid 3k deposit.

Welcome to our friendly forum!
As Peter says, try and hold out for your exact original order.
It seems that the GT design wheel is available elsewhere (so they presumably have some stock available at the factory in Germany) so really push your OPC Manager hard for them to honour your original spec.
Cheers,
Simon

The sales manager at my OPC is locking down his own (company) car and he too cannot have these wheels. He is speccing the RS Spyders and having them powder coated black. This costs around £400 and still comes in around £1k cheaper than black GT wheels.

That’s what I’m doing if I’m told I can’t have the GT`s. I just can’t decide at the moment whether to go gloss black or Matt black.
When you say £400 I hope you mean for all four and not each!!
Macan S on order in Black. Leather and 21’ GT’s- Cancelled. Coming soon 911 GTS.
Yes for all fourSweetmeister wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 10:57 amThat’s what I’m doing if I’m told I can’t have the GT`s. I just can’t decide at the moment whether to go gloss black or Matt black.

My OPC said they would do it for me (third party) so I can collect car with all done and quoted me £400.
Actually, I’m not wedded to all black wheels and prefer the ones I selected but I could easily paint these later if I change my mind.
Now, the thing is this - if you paint the Spyders mat black that will be a wheel that already exists on the GTS so all good. If you go for gloss, that will become a wheel that doesn’t exist currently in the Macan range (May have previously?) - just a thought for the pedants

About £100 per wheel is about the going rate for powder coating.Sweetmeister wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 10:57 amThat’s what I’m doing if I’m told I can’t have the GT`s. I just can’t decide at the moment whether to go gloss black or Matt black.

I’ve just had my 20” ‘summer’ wheels re-finished. They were done by a reputable firm in Tewkesbury (they do loads of work for Tewkesbury OPC). They were Titanium Grey and they’re now Hyper Silver. The wheels were completely stripped of their previous paint/coatings before being completely repainted & finished afresh. £528 all in, including rebalancing.
Cheers,
Simon

Thanks Jon
I did mention this to them and my Porsche centre mentioned might not be possible as the wheels are diamond cut … but if can get the Matt black finish like gts then mould prefer this to gloss black
Ps what OPC was that just so I can mention it if the start messing me about saying it’s not possible
Nottingham but just to reassure you I took photos to an alloy wheel specialist in Derby, and they said no problem…srj8t2 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 11:15 amThanks Jon
