Driving in London normally requires regular use of the horn. However I have found that the horn does not get the attention when pressed.

Is the horn 2016 GTS a little less louder than other cars?

Thanks.

I wonder if they'll bring out 19", 20" and 21" horns in different styles and colours with contrasting stitching???
Possibly even a full leather option??

:D

Seriously, try living in Cairo for any length of time and you'd wish cars weren't fitted with horns!!!

Just in case you have been over using your horn!

S.112 of the Highway Code says....

'The horn. Use only while your vehicle is moving and you need to warn other road users of your presence. Never sound your horn aggressively.

You MUST NOT use your horn:

while stationary on the road

when driving in a built-up area between the hours of 11.30 pm and 7.00 am except when another road user poses a danger."

The Macan is fitted with twin horns, a low and high pitch unit - it could be one of the units has failed, not unusual on Boxster/Cayman and 911s. The part numbers are 95B 951 211 low pitch and 95B 951 212 high pitch

Interestingly Porsche have two build code options I8Y1 standard horns and I8Y2 'horns for extreme driving conditions' - same part numbers as the standard items but suffixed with a A in the part number, ie 95B 951 211 A. I would imagine the extreme items are just better sealed for dust and water, same as they offer a different air filter element for dusty regions

I can imagine that with cyclists, scooters , pedal, ebike and motorbike couriers it can at times be a nightmare at times in central London.
