Sorry to resurrect this old thread PMG, but did you find a source for the gear speed figures? I've been googling for ages with no luck.pmg wrote: βSat Sep 04, 2021 9:15 pm One thing I do like about my 2019 Gen 2S is the gearing 7th of 40 mph per 1000 revs. it suits my use of the car as a refined long distance cruiser.
Gen 2 GTS and Turbo are the same but lower ratio from memory at 35 mph per 1000. Somewhere on this computer, I stored the 7 gear ratios as mph per 1000 revs for all three Gen 2 models. the lower ratios for all three models where the same but due to lower 7th gearing the higher gears were closer in GTS and Turbo than S.
I have not seen figures for Gen 3 S and GTS but I suspect they maybe same as the Gen 2 cars but could be tweaked which might partly explain acceleration figure changes or not. There is still a lot of details we do know about the Gen 3 cars

it takes some time to find the way round it but there is a lot of info
here are the pages for Model year 2022 macans - all have top gear of around 35.6 mph per 1000 revs

you have to press the "view" buttons to get some of the more detailed data

There's a bloody great rev counter front and centre and at 4,000 revs in any gear you be near as damn it flying! Keeping it under 4,000 rpm is not really a problem.Bluesnose1812 wrote: βSun Jan 23, 2022 4:22 pm Perfect thanks. I now know I will be able to do 70 in 4th and not exceed 4000rpm
Would anybody disagree?

4000 rpm equates to
1st 23
2nd 36
3rd 55
4th 78
5th 99
6th 124
7th 149
this for 'original' S. 'Porsche' engine - can't find any info for later 'Audi' engine. I don/t believe the transmission has changed though.....

'The secret of life is enjoying the passage of time'
Auto Catalog suggests they did
2019/2020 S then 2019/2020 GTS and 2022 S
1st 20 20
2nd 34.4 34.4
3rd 55 52
4th 76 72
5th 100 94
6th 129 118
7th 158 143
basically 6 the and 7th are slightly higher 2019 S and lower in 2.9 litre cars with some tweaks at lower gears

Yes I don't think there is a retractable wing option on the Macan.Neil1911 wrote: βMon Jan 24, 2022 10:02 amThere's a bloody great rev counter front and centre and at 4,000 revs in any gear you be near as damn it flying! Obviously irony doesn't translate very well on this forum.
