49K for a brand new Macan T ? Basic OK, but 3-year old S's wanting 50+??

Is it because of the long delivery?

Yes , but more demand for Macan's means low depreciation. Even 2014/2015 7 or 8 year old S's or SD's are rarely priced below £30K even with 70k to 80 K mileage

Not sure where you've seen a £49K Macan T? Starting price is £54K before options, and they're only appearing on the roads now.
Current - Macan III GTS
Previous - Macan II GTS, Macan I GTS

Forget the T.

It is a 2.0 litre.

If you want a Porsche please do buy one that lives up to the badge.

Go for an S or GTS or Turbo as a second hand buy.

You can configure a brand new S with a reasonable set of options for less than £60k.

The T handles like a GTS, possibly better. Does the S do that? At the end of the day, they are both Q5s with an Audi/VW engine.

So which "badge" are they "living" up to?

They all handle like a the two ton SUV that they are. Any minor differences could only be exploited on a track. The V6’s are much, much faster though.
They could make the T handle like a housefly on crack, but I would take the S or GTS everyday and twice on Sundays! 😂😂

That’s the base Macan

Macan T - £53,970

I think a little extra for it to be “on the road” as such, plus any options of course.

And so the 2.0T bashing continues - weary

For most people the 2.0T gives more than ample everyday performance, ,equivalent to a warm/hot hatch so hardly a slouch. It might not be as dramatic as an S/GTS/Turbo but there's not many chances to deploy that extra power on UK roads, not without being a loon or clocking up speeding tickets. Yes the 6 cylinders sound better, but you pay more for that priviledge in cost, servicing, tax, insurance and fuel.

We’ll, I have driven the base and the S 911 and the useable difference is minor plus you get hardly anything more in terms of kit. The GTS will be much quicker I think but way out of my budget…
The difference between a 2l Macan and a V6 is enormous and yet the price difference is comparatively modest. 😉
