…a quick Google search says £2015 first year VED for the T. Same band as the S.

Wing Commander wrote: Thu May 19, 2022 4:20 pm To elaborate on my earlier answer, I could happily live with a Macan T with no options! If pushing the boat out, I’d add less than £2.5k in options = 21” 911 Turbo wheels, PSE, auto-dimming mirrors & the 75 litre fuel tank. :)
Or save even more by sticking to the standard 20" wheels. 21" wheels on the T model, which has lowered suspension and no air, is very likely to be detrimental to its ride quality. The T is the one model - perhaps the only model - where I strongly suggest sticking to the standard wheels.

Compared to my current car, the T with PASM on 21” wheels would feel like a magic carpet! :P

N.B. Am not swapping my T for a Macan T. Was just playing on the configurator. ;)

Many, many years ago; almost in a different universe BMW introduced the 3 series Coupe (as it was known in 1989) Money was tight, inflation high (sounds familiar) and we (Mr and Mrs) decided to get a BM. A proper car. All sorts of people pointed to the 318 etc etc.
IF i am going to buy a BMW it has to have 6 cylinders - so a 320 (6 pot then).
Fast forward to first Porsche...... Cayman S, followed by another Cayman S then WTF! the 'new' (718) Cayman is two cylinders short of a proper car.
What is all this about?
If you are going to buy a Porker, (or a BM) get a real one. One with the appropriate number of cylinders. Six (or more).

Nothing wrong with 4 cylinder motors (or three) I have owned a lot and enjoyed virtually all of them. However, there are certain marques of vehicle which MUST have multi-cylinder (more than 4) motors. Would you really consider an Audi UR Quattro with a 4 pot?

Here endeth the first lesson...........................

What’s your thoughts on Lotus?

I went for the AMG i4 DCT version of the Emira instead of the V6. Been told it arrives in December.

LOTS OF TROUBLE USUALLY SERIOUS.

Original Elan with BDA fantastic. Europa amazing despite a renault engine. Esprit? Needed the V8 BUT you could have any of them as Lotus did not/ has not a history/legacy of multi cylinder motors. The later Loti with 6 cylinder toyota engines were not a defining development.....

I can't understand why anyone would pay mid-range car money for a Lotus.

I went up to my OPC a couple of months ago in my torquey Cayenne Diesel for a test drive in a base Macan and an S.
After driving 'my' car, the 2.0 felt like an utter wind-bag.
One month later I had another test drive in a base (to query the steering weight with PSP on an S, but the sales exec screwed up and provided a base) but this time I went up to the OPC as a passenger in my OH's Fiesta.

Result? The base felt more than quick enough in normal traffic and steered like a beaut.
I have yet to try an S with PSP, but that's another story.
