Motorway quoted £52000, Carwow was £52495. The car has done 7000 miles ish. I think I paid £67000 last July!
Neither company has seen pictures although the Carwow quote said it was estimated and didn't take into account extras or condition.
Considering OPC's are selling Macans not dissimilar to mine for £68K+, the mark up is greedy to say the least. I realise Motorway/Carwow need to make money too so this is probably the reason. OPC's may be a better bet, if i decided to part with mine. May ask my OPC for a value next week when my S goes in for its recall.
OPC's are putting such Macans in the showroom with a sticker price of around £68K. none of us know what they are actually selling the majority of cars at.

There was a headline in the Torygraph yesterday of "Petrol car prices due to fall". the argument being new car supply issues due to component shortages were substantially over.

the car buying companies are fully aware of what is happening in the car auctions which are probably a better lead to future price levels than retail stickers.

I can scarcely believe this if it relates to your Gentian Macan , it has an excellent spec. I sold my 69 plate Macan S a few weeks ago on Carwow at £46400 to a Porsche specialist WBAC went from £47K a 6 weeks or so ago to £42K two weeks ago. I listed all the extras on Carlow and I think dealers then value accordingly. You should be in the £60K plus bracket I would have thought it's lovely car

On a Porsche the extras are a significant factor so if those prices dont take them into account it means it’s assuming list as the base which is £59K. Once they understand what’s on offer I’d expect those prices to significantly rise.

What carwow etc can sell on car for will be below what OPC can, so factor in that.
If I was dropping 60k plus on a car (again) I think I would be heading main dealer way.

So carwow / dealers have to make a profit....say 12-15%, esp as they have selling costs, warranty, plus time sitting on forecourts....
So a 68k car advertised at Porsche....probably they would be looking to pay 57ish.
But carwow etc will only retail same car for say 63k....so look to buy for 53k.

The issue comes for seller when OPC offer you the same as carwow etc......then you can see the mark up Porsche make.....20+%

Dealers are businesses and need to make a profit. I sold my wife fpace to a local dealer and he retailed it at 12% more than he paid me. I can live with that, he makes a profit, and I got rid of wife's car without tyre kickers lining up around the block, plus had no selling costs.

Ref extras...Porsche do seem to be one of those marques that require cars to be specced right for decent retail. So extras do command a premium, but on the flip note, not having some does impact valuations too....

How do the likes of Carwow, Prestige Performance settle. Is it as you hand the car over?

With Prestige Performance, the money is transferred to your account on hand over of the car, which is after an inspection of the car by the collection driver…….all in all, a very quick and smooth transaction.

I have no experience of CarWow, but I’d assume the process is similar to above.

That's true for Motorway too, the drivers work for a third party and are probably from the same company, a friend's son works for them.
