Yeah more like a blown exhaust but not as loud. Makes a bigger difference on a 911 but different engine and outlet config. The V6 Macan makes a pleasant engine sound anyway and I think the PSE is not really offering very much extra from standard, particularly as a couple of valves open in sport mode even on the non PSE car, complete with pops on the overrun (in sport).

Jon, you are comparing your Gen 3 S with Luca's Gen 2 (if I assume correctly) there's a significant difference in sound between your 2.9L and his 3.0L. I've had them back to back and the 3L was far more subtle . Luca drive it for a while, trading up to a 2020 GTS (or a Gen3 S) will get you the same engine as Jon and more noise even without a PSE. How the £££ will compare with swapping exhausts on yours is one for you to investigate though, doubt anybody on here has done it, the French contingent will probably now make a liar of me!

To both of our slight embarrassment my next door but one neighbour bought a nearly new GTS about two months ago. He paid over £90k but I think he regrets that partNeil1911 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 10:50 pm Jon, you are comparing your Gen 3 S with Luca's Gen 2 (if I assume correctly) there's a significant difference in sound between your 2.9L and his 3.0L. So both the same 2.9l V6 and his PSE is slightly louder but the difference is subtle at best. We have both driven each others now too, and again the differences are subtle. The GTS pulls slightly better after about 5k revs but the S is a more comfortable ride at “normal” speeds.
We both thought the the GTS would be noticeably quicker or the S would be noticeably slower (take your pick) but both felt the GTS was a little “tighter” in the handling department, but not a lot quicker.
Think he is a little bit cheesed off because of how much he paid and that he bought one in Volcano which now blends nicely with all the other SUV’s in the close
Having said all that, the GTS is a lovely car but I certainly wouldn’t pay £90k for one…

My point is that NEITHER of them have the same engine as in Luca's 2020 S, that'll be the same as I had in my 2019 S.Jon A wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 11:30 pmTo both of our slight embarrassment my next door but one neighbour bought a nearly new GTS about two months ago. Understood Neil, but I thought it might be useful for the OP to get an opinion based on PSE or no PSE on the same engine. It might give insight on changing to PSE on his own Gen2 car, although I imagine it’s hideously expensive to do.Neil1911 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 11:57 pmMy point is that NEITHER of them have the same engine as in Luca's 2020 S, that'll be the same as I had in my 2019 S.Jon A wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 11:30 pmTo both of our slight embarrassment my next door but one neighbour bought a nearly new GTS about two months ago.
