Whilst out in the sunshine in my 986 Boxster, the neighbours son reversed into the side of my Macan whilst it was parked in the road. Wonder what this is going to cost to repair? car is booked into Chartwell who are Porsche approved body shop in Derby. There is hardly a mark on the plastic bumper of his BMW.

A new door or some filler, I don't see them getting the original shape back with it being right on that "waistline". Rather his insurance than mine!

Isn’t that mostly on the side blade? Plus above it.

A good neighbour to actually admit it.

Has any of the paint cracked?

If not you may be able to preserve the orginal paint via a good PDR man, and then replace the side blade separately even if that component can't be ordered pre-painted.

A body shop will always suggest a new skin but many repairs like this can be achieved via PDR.

I had a very similar damage to an Audi. None of the paint less dent guys would touch it. Approx £500 at Audi to fill and paint it; new door would have been better

Only time a good PDR guy wont touch these is if the metal has been stretched. You need to find a good one though, not the likes of Chips Away etc

My daughter had significant bonnet damage on her Mini once and had cosmetic insurance. They wouldn't touch it but my PDR man said no problem and after an hour the dents were gone.
