Being offered this for free by OPC (Swindon).
Any reason not to or anything to be aware of? Never had on any previous cars.
Assuming it’s a good thing to have but don’t know?
Thanks!
Ceramic Coating by Dealer
I had it done by the same dealer. Was pleasantly pleased. Mine too was free.
Eventually received March 2023.

Although I do rate Swindon, I’m always suspicious of the quality/value of something being offered for free...

Depends upon how long you intend to keep the car.
Ceramic coating done right needs the paintwork corrected, typically this can be a 4-8 hour process, then the coating is applied and it needs 24 hours to cure. A Pro Detailer will typically need the car for 3 days to do the work, hence do you think that an OPC will undertake this level of work?
So short term ownership letting them do it will give a great look but it will not last as long as when done by a Pro.
Good luck

Lot of dealerships throwing this in as “Free” friend just had the same offer with VW and we also had it with Mini. Think the SE’s get some leeway on final sale price and this product possibly has a bonus element? It is not as good and won’t last as long as products used by top detailers but if you weren’t planning to go that route, it’s FREE so what’s not to like.

I had this for free but when I collected the car I could see swirl marks underneath the coating, the SE was embarased and agreed.
Initially they were going to take it back and rectify at the OPC. However after consultation with Gtechniq it was taken away from me on a covered trailer
to their detailing workshop where the the coating was stripped, swirl marks polished out and then a new ceramic coat applied properly.
Although it was hassle at the time the problem was resolved to my satisfaction.
Strangely this was offered to me free well after initial order and lockdown for the delay in getting the car.

No. Gtechniq.
I was sceptical at first but I have to admit they’ve done a great job. Think it took them 2 days.
