Hi all,

I live in North London and went to my local OPC for a service. Got triggered for a bill of various things, for almost £10k. I cried for a week.

Then, the week after, one spring has broken. Again, OPC has quoted quite a high bill for that too (almost £1k to fix one spring...).

Does anyone know of a good reliable garage in North London for a Macan? Am in love with my car, but I can't afford £260 per hour labour rates every month

(Driving 2015 Macan S, 60k miles on clock).

Blimey! Sorry to hear this.

As posted elsewhere on here, I knocked 54% off the OPC quote for a service by contacting a recommended independent Porsche specialist.

I used the 20,000 members of the Facebook group to get half a dozen recommendations for a local indy: PORSCHE OWNERS UK.

Cheers,
Simon

new front suspension + 4 discs + pads + all new tyres.

I'm still not sure if all of it was necessary, but they recommended them all strongly!

Do you have ceramic brakes? Also did you get an OPC service to keep the approved warranty? I would have thought suspension would have been covered by that if the car is already under warranty

It’s an 8 year old car, so may not still be under warranty.

If it had PCCBs, the bill would have been even more. :geek:

IMHO if its not under warranty, then going to an OPC won't make financial sense. I still can't believe a £10k bill! Expensive lesson learnt however for next time (if you dare) just ask them for an estimate before they start changing anything. If you can please share the itemised costs for all the changes (or a screenshot of the bill) as this would definitely help anyone thinking of going to OPCs for the same work.

The OP has now followed my advice and joined the Porsche Owners UK group on FB, already getting numerous indy recommendations. :)
