Did you try Autoglym Intensive Tar Remover? Like you, I find that it’s necessary to physically remove most of the adhesive with plastic tools and even by rolling the glue off with fingers but the tar remover usually works on the final sticky residue.RGS wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 5:56 pm I tried all of those without success. The top layer which is like black tape comes away easily, but the closer you get to the wheel surface the harder it gets until you think its permanently attached. Nothing I tried softens it, just hard work with a microfibre rubbing with pressure eventually gets it off without doing any damage. I have just discovered (too late) that Gtechniq sell a product to remove tar and glue which might make life a little easier if you find yourself in my situation.

Humm....check the load rating as my Macan came with N2 tyres that are the wrong load rating and are meant for the Cayenne. I had to go down to N0 to get the correct load rating. Of course things may have changed in the last 20 months.
June 2017 Macan GTS in Carmine red with 21” gloss black sport classics, GTS leather package, Air, PASM, PDLS+, pano roof, Sports Chrono, 18 way seats, BOSE, surround view, heated seats front and rear, carbon side blades and carbon interior package.
Autoglym Intensive tar remover didn't work either.
With regard to the N2 tyres, the load rating is correct for my Macan running on 21" rims, they match exactly as the certificate of conformity shows and identical to the N0. They are the later generation of the tyre but as I said perfect for 21" rims, but I can't answer for smaller rims. This is the rear R21 295/35 103 Y

Excellent, thank you.

I've found that petrol removes all tar very easily.RGS wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 5:56 pm I tried all of those without success. Best tar and glue remover on the market.
And on a 2.0 Macan, it’ll melt the wheels.

What I would like to ask is do I use 95 or 98 Ron petrol to do this job? as using the correctly rated fuel is of course important for your Porsche!Bluesnose1812 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 29, 2023 7:53 pmI've found that petrol removes all tar very easily.RGS wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 5:56 pm I tried all of those without success.
