PDK change down

Just occasionally I have experienced a very rough change down from 3rd to 2nd in Sport Mode when slowing.

Just wondered if anyone else has ever felt that? As my running in period took months I’m going to do the PDK reset when I get a moment.

Hi guys,

Not sure any of you saw my post but I performed the PDK reset this morning and boy what a difference. If any of you have observed the running in period as I did (mostly anyway), then I’d say this reset is essential afterwards as the car just learns too much sedateness in that period.

Took the car out just now and couldn’t believe how different it felt in ‘Normal’ mode. Swift gear changes up and especially down

Only used manual mode a few times, but downshifts have been instant. Far quicker than in my old X3.

Did the dealer complete the PDK reset? Or is this done through The infotainment system?

You just do itself using the following procedure:

It’s the auto downshifts I was talking about btw

PORSCHE PDK FACTORY RESET PROCEDURE
1. Turn on the engine, turn off A/C (and any other systems like PCM radio etc.) and let the engine run for 3 minutes.
2. Turn on A/C and wait another 3 minutes.
3. Turn off engine, remove the key, close & lock the car and wait one minute.
4. Restart car and PDK is now reset to factory default
*To turn off the PCM, Press & Hold the Left button until the PCM shuts down.

Ive also noticed a rough down shift in Sport so I will do the reset today

Great information, I wasn’t aware of PDK reset. I’ve just finished running mine in so will give it a go

I still read these instructions and think it’s all a bit of a wind up but obviously not.
