What are you currently driving?
If I was buying used from an OPC I’d try for a 5% reduction if I didn’t have a trade in. Will you need finance ? If so dealers like that as it earns them commission or at least the dealership. If you have a trade in you might be better selling it to one of the online car buying sites. I used bigmotor and got a good price with no hassle.

Goodluck in your quest and welcome aboard.

This is my old car, I used it for my work as a surveyor, the mileage is the result of travelling into London fairly frequently, it was always serviced by Porsche Colchester until the brake pads needed doing which were sorted by a local specialist who services my 911. It had an extended warranty until 4 years old, it cost them plenty to sort out the rear washers.

It has never been damaged or crashed, I was the only driver from new.
Oh, did you suffer with the rear washer connection and it soaking the carpets like a lot of others during the cold snap then?
I see that you are also in a new nice 2023 Macan - how does it compare to the older model, as far as you are concerned - maybe I wait and save a bit more and try for an early gen 3 next year?

Andrew
Yes the washer problem was the freeze up. My car has no fancy spec, it was for work not weekends. But was good to take to Cornwall for holidays they are great long distance cars, unless you have grown ups in the back.
But I think the Cribbs Causeway car looks much better value, comparing it with the Saxton deal
The £10k extra buys you OPC Approved Used with Porsche warranty, 30,000 miles less and 18 months newer, if it has the spec you want then you should seriously consider bursting just a bit out of your budget.

Finally I prefer the late Gen2 cars (with wireless Apple CarPlay) to the Gen3 that I have now for a variety of reasons.

I would be interested to hear what you prefer about Gen 2 to Gen3? Anything more than the physical central consul buttons that immediately comes to mind?

I am currently driving a 3 series BMW but will be giving that to my nephew so no trade in and also no finance - I guess that I could take a finance package and then pay it off straight away if that helps with getting a deal(assuming that you can still do that)?

Thanks again all - I will keep an eye on what is now available on the Porches approved used website

I would stay away from Saxon 4 x 4. I had booked to see a car from them, as it looked good in the pictures. When i arrived i waited for an hour, then the showed me a car that was dirty inside and out, bird crap all over and a almost flat tyre.. to be taken for test drive. When i questioned the condition they told me they dont prepare cars unless they are selling them.
The service is awful and i wouldn't send a guy i don't like there for a car.
Best go get a car elsewhere!!

Thanks Jessat - I think that I am going to go the OPC route and also probably extend my budget a bit as well :)

Out of curiosity I searched & found that my old Macan that I sold to Saxon 4x4 is still for sale there after 6 months.

Yes I have been keeping an eye on it actually as it is a nicely spec'd car and my favourite colour and now under £40K, although you seem to have to pay Saxtons a £200 admin fee!!

I keep changing my mind as to whether to spend £40K or wait for a few more months ie. next year and maybe spend £50K :)
