How long do batteries last in the TPMS sensors? I've had some random tyre pressure warnings recently, but the pressures are accurate.

My tyres lasted 5 years before I had them changed at my local OPC.

Without looking at the bill I would presume that they changed the sensors then

The sensors do have a battery pack that should be renewed at each tyre change. Significantly cheaper than changing the sensors.

A few months ago, when it was started up first thing in the morning, the dash warning light showing TPMS requires service. Accessed the MFD and all the tyre pressures were showing all sorts of different values.
Did a physical check of the pressures, and all were just 1 psi or so off mark. After a run the warning light went off, and never came on again.
The TPMS sensors are originals from new, now nearly 7 years old.

The sensors should have a 10 year lifespan

Thanks, guys, I think I'll get the batteries replaced next time the car needs new tyres.

Depends on use. I replaced a full set on our BMW X3 at 7 years/80k miles. Were still working but I had a tyre change coming up so it made sense. Came to about £400 for the OEM parts.
