Also, I wonder if Porsche help dealers out if they then have to take back a leased car which is losing money every month. Don't the dealers actually buy the car's off Porsche to begin with? Not 100% sure how it works.
I'd imagine leased cars are owned by Volkswagen Financial Services (UK) Ltd, and they're maybe just placed with OPCs to be sold.

Getting an email doesn’t really show desperation - mass e-mails to some of the Porsche customer base is just part of the sales and marketing machine. Not all customers/contacts are getting e-mails though - I haven’t had one yet, nor an offer of a test drive.

Will it be desperation when they offer new Taycans at 20% off list? BMW do that with most of their M cars once the initial 6-12 month excitement of a newly introduced model has worn off.

I don’t disagree that Porsche have an issue with the amount of new Taycan stock, but IMO they are a long way from showing desperation in their sales tactics.

I think that'll be on its way though when they have to sell 22% of all sales as EVs come January ;)

There are masses of these things on their Approved Used site and over 100+ brand new ready to go!

Just seen a FB video from Porsche Swindon.

Surprisingly, although promoting their massive selection of used cars, the models promoted in the video are all sports cars, including a 991.1 and a couple of GT4s.

They no longer email me or ring me, as I last ordered a new car over 5.5 years ago! 😂

Yes, currently 486 new Taycans looking for a buyer in the OPCs. But the interesting comparison is to see how many new Porsches of the other model ranges are listed:-

36 718s
109 911s
74 Panameras
12 Macans
20 Cayennes

Mate of mine just got 17k discount not to cancel his wife’s £130k gts.
Told him he’d still take a bath on it even with that discount, but she wants it.

Indeed.

There's a normal (as opposed to Heritage) GTS Targa on at £169k, and a 2WD GTS coupe at £148k. Am not an expert in GTS prices but those sound outrageously high. One has to be losing £30k the second one drives one out of the showroom

Maybe not. But my point was they rang me days before, and I said I wasn't interested in a Taycan. Less than a week later, an email asking me if I want to buy a Taycan.

Maybe they thought I originally said no to buy that week ! But he might be interested this week instead.
