..... I'd love to know how they're getting into the cars.
I can tell you but I'd have to shoot you.

I've not watched the whole thing yet but I'm 3 minutes in and can't tell if he's taking the piss

So far all hinges on keyless entry and software, plus OBD access.

I have just had a thought.... I wonder if all Macan's have the internal software for keyless entry, but they just don't give you a key that enables it. So even if you don't spec it, your car is still vulnerable...

Just got renewal in for SLC 300. £475 it was £360 last year.
Went into meerkat site and it was £425. Phoned up the fat dog to tell them and they have renewed it for £326. Result.
The Macan that’s due is £800 with Churchill and £450 with RAC so that’s not too bad with the RAC.

The keyless entry cars have different door handles to the ordinary keyed version, there is a sensor? Buried in the handle which in the right light you can see as the handle has a flat spot on it. This is where the keyless entry handles crack.

Getting back on topic…….just had my renewal letter from NFU for the Defender, up 33% from last year’s £536 so not too bad given the horror stories and better than I was fearing. Price comparison sites no better, most much higher, so will be sticking with NFU.

Looks like we both had a good outcome this year, Nick.

I still admire every Defender 90 that I see! :)

Yes, true Simon, it seems NFU aren’t fleecing customers quite as much as some companies are.

I’m still happy with the Defender, love its appearance and love driving it, also still loving the V8 soundtrack!

Excellent!

If I ever ditch the 911, I reckon it’d be a toss up between a Defender 90 or a Macan.

Have you seen the YouTube video about the Defender 90 pickup?!
