Porsche warranty used purchase not OPC

I have found a very nice 2019 Macan S, the spec is, to my mind pretty good too.

Sport Chrono

It is being sold outside of the OPC network and priced competitively. It is being supplied with an official Porsche warranty until March ‘25 but from reading the forum it appears this can’t be passed on through a dealer. Is this the case?

If it's the extended Porsche warranty, I believe it's not transferrable, unless the dealer is selling it on a "sale or return" arrangement in which case it is transferable.

If it's a private sale then it can be. Sales by a dealer "on commission" where the previous owner signs the V5 directly to you also allow it too, I think!

If you sell a car on to a dealer and you have some remaining extended warranty, you can reclaim the remaining period portion of the premium.

I can see some 2nd car dealers preferring to sell their warranties rather than cars which already have one. Porsche may have considered that when setting their terms.

That’s good then, I was thinking out aloud and if you had a long period remaining you would lose out.

To be 100% clear, YES. Did that in February, got the t-shirt, well, bank transfer in this case.
