Sounds about wrong.

That's what I would have guessed for a new Porsche fitted one, to keep the warranty police at bay.

My 981 (out of warranty) Bosch supplied by an indy wasn't a lot cheaper once fitted and coded.

I should have reacted sooner to the stop/start engaging less often than it used to. At 6 years old the car turned over but refused to start. A low-loader and new battery sorted that out. Lesson learnt!

Are you sure the existing battery is beyond saving? When I exchanged my SD in 2020 (five years old) the original battery was still going strong.

I had mine changed early last year at 4.5 years old and it was £550 fitted at Brooklands OPC. As I have extended warranty I had to go this route.
June 2017 Macan GTS in Carmine red with 21” gloss black sport classics, GTS leather package, Air, PASM, PDLS+, pano roof, Sports Chrono, 18 way seats, BOSE, surround view, heated seats front and rear, carbon side blades and carbon interior package.

Same as my 981. Was using c-tek a lot but no good. I recall phoning my OPC when trying to start the car. They said to bring it in!

Luckily GCR Porsche in Leicester were more helpful and rescued it.

Apologies if you know this already but did you use a ctek that was meant for AGM batteries as there are 2 types? My previous macan i had for 5 years and it was 6 years old and never had a battery issue, same as the 911, it was 7 years old when we parted ways and on its original battery.

Maybe just one of those things.
