2023 Macan base model - first impressions

Don’t agree, but as you say each to their own. I have almost all of the things in your list and it still cost less than a base GTS and a couple of the items I definitely wouldn’t want.

when I specced an S with exactly all of those things I wanted that are standard on a GTS I got to more than the £71k the base GTS costs. Came to £74.9k to be exact. Hence my point around better just getting a GTS at that point as the differences with all those additionals are not marginal for me.

I simply wouldn’t buy a macan at that price point without these things, whether they are cosmetic or not.

I am an owner of a base Macan, I do not think that I have ever seen a base Macan with no options?

The only thing that I just do not understand is WHY HAS THE BASE MACAN NOT GOT AN OIL PRESSURE DISPLAY OPTION ?????????????

I would have paid the extra 10p it costs to not delete this function, after regardless of the base spec it is still a Porsche?

Can you not add the oil pressure yourself? The fourth line is customisable. Our S has 4th line as oil pressure. Our loan base has 4th line as voltage.

As far as I’m aware, the 2L engines don’t have the oil pressure display option.

What you've done is created your own pizza S by taking the basic one and adding the toppings you like.

Our S also has the things we like, 14-ways, BOSE, coloured side blades, pepperoni, green peppers, and came in at right around £70k retail when new.

A GTS is more like a shop bought pizza with pineapple and olives which you resent having paid for as you'll never eat them.

You’re really missing the point though, the spec I wanted was missing on the S but standard on the GTS, and those things were significant to me and not marginal. If I added those same things that are standard on the GTS to a S it came to £75k (ie more than a base GTS).

Adding other extras like a heated windscreen, ACC etc. that are NOT standard on EITHER car and would be an extra on BOTH is irrelevant to my point and just turns the discussion into spaghetti.

Either way enjoy your S, my only point was to challenge your initial argument that the difference is marginal between the S and GTS, which having driven both cars I don’t agree with. Everyone’s got there own opinion of course and none of this really matters.
