Macan S Stock vs Sport Exhaust
It’s a nice sound but £1800!!!!
Throw that into a Burmester instead

Well I wouldn’t pay for it on a Macan (unless it was £200) but it’s quite nice if it comes with it on a GTS I think?
I don’t really think the 2.9 is all that different in sound with or without tbh, particularly in sport mode.
I think you’d be pretty hacked off if you blew £1,800 on speccing it though!

Ask your OPC to let you hear and drive a Macan S without PSE and a GTS standard with PSE. If they cannot provide, then ring around other OPCs to see what they can offer. Or contact the Porsche Experience Centre, if Silverstone's not too far away.

I think the PSE is an awesome feature.
I’ve had macans with and without it. I would not buy a macan without the sports exhaust not.
On the latest model GTS it sounds great and I remember driving a S without the sports exhaust and it honestly felt a lot more muted to me personally.
Would I spec it for £1800 - yes. But I guess it depends what your budget is and what else you have on it.

Agree, my colleague has it on his Gen 2 and we both agree it’s not worth it.Jon A wrote: ↑Fri Nov 24, 2023 9:27 pmWell I wouldn’t pay for it on a Macan (unless it was £200) but it’s quite nice if it comes with it on a GTS I think?

Macan S MY 2023

It won't make much difference to the sound inside the cabin. So you're essentially paying £1800 for no one to care walking past.
The S in sports mode sounds pretty good as standard anyway.
Pop bang pop pop pop. That’s what PSE does.
It’s a bit vulgar and makes you look like a teenager, in my opinion. Doesn’t really match this car. I would pay £1,800 to have PSE removed.
But if you love it, you shouldn’t care about judgemental people like me. Get a noisy car and startle the horses by all means.

An ACDC or Metalica at volume on the In Car Audio is far better VFM than a rasping £1800 exhaust.
The single best feature of a PSE is the Off switch.
My Turbo sounds great without PSE.
I could understand PSE if it gave an extra 20-30 bhp but as it does zilch to the engine output what is the point?
