Hi,
I’ve got a 66 palate Mecan s. The rear foot well is getting soaking wet. I’m assuming it’s because of the rain and a blocked drainage pipe. I’ve read a bit about this subject and a lot of the replays just say about trying to unblock the drainage hoses.
A couple of weeks ago I pulled back the rear wheel arch panels in the boots. The left hand side (as you look in was soaking with standing water there. I lifted the panel to where the battery in the boot is and there was about 1-2 gallons of water in there. I’ve now dried it out.
I’ve cleared the pipes so when I pour water in the track to drain away it pours out where it should. I’ve also snipped the end of the pipe to allow any debris to pass.
Today after some heavy rain the footwell is again wet, but we have no water in the battery well of in the left hand compartment.
Is there any help out there for what els I can try before u have to take it to a professional??
Thanks
Rear passenger footwell filling with water
It’s not the dreaded rear washer pipe leak is it?

Would that put 2 gallons of water in the battery compartment?

Your car would be stinking of screen wash if it was a split pipe mine was that bad you could smell it when you opened the door, and your reservoir would be empty and the refill light would be on
I thought the rear wash leak was only on cars with a camera washer - Gen 2 & 3s due to the T pipe. OP has a 66 plate Gen 1. Might be wrong though?Oscar2 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 07, 2023 9:15 pmYour car would be stinking of screen wash if it was a split pipe mine was that bad you could smell it when you opened the door, and your reservoir would be empty and the refill light would be on

mabey just the roof drains if he’s not been using the rear washers, but if a Gen1 has a rear washer it could have frozen and split if fluid is not strong enoughAndyC160 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 07, 2023 9:22 pmI thought the rear wash leak was only on cars with a camera washer - Gen 2 & 3s due to the T pipe. Didn't know there was a camera washer? Does it work automatically when operating something (putting in reverse?)?AndyC160 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 07, 2023 9:22 pmI thought the rear wash leak was only on cars with a camera washer - Gen 2 & 3s due to the T pipe. In general, so long as the car is in warranty and an owner has adhered to any standard service drain check advice (the sunroof drains are checked at service intervals and a 'small' charge made for clearing), are any leakage issues covered under warranty? We intend to keep our S in warranty for the full 15yrs/125k miles but I was aware of the various 'wet' issues through research before buying.
What's been anyone's experience in this area?
