True, as bennachie pointed out, one flash can be missed very easily. I know that the Porsche engineers will have deliberated long and hard before deciding on 3 flashes as being the optimum solution.

Not sure three flashes is a Porsche thing. Our Kia does it, so did the Jag and the BM’s - isn’t it a bit of a standard thing for most cars??

I think it originated to reduce the number of times drivers forgot to cancel their indicators when overtaking.

Product engineers love to re-invent the wheel! Certainly they'll have considered what other makers do before settling on 3 flashes.

Yep I thought it was pretty much standard and never heard of a one flash version. Previous Mercs and even my other half's Toyota are three flash

Isn't one flash to show the drivers a twat? I once got a lift with a colleague in his Fiesta to Liverpool and back, he did it all the time, he was definitely a twat. I dearly hope this doesn't apply to our fellow forum member misteralz. Welcome!

Single flash = crap driving

Even three flashes is pretty poor.

No SD card slot, but a USB one. And no matter what, it plays every song on an album in alphabetical order. Maddening. So, CDs!
If I remember rightly from my Cayenne (which had the six CD option) you could set up random play in the PCM. My Macan SD (that's diesel not a memory card) had the 40Gb hard drive, sadly missed on my GTS.

Sorry for the digression but this brought back memories. I was proudly showing my elder son my slide rule from my time at university. Trying to explain how it worked I pointed out that is used the principles of log tables. That brought the response "what are log tables Dad". Technology moves on quickly. :P
