Hi, this is my first post as a Macan owner ( Volcano grey Macan S 2017) I spent a while looking for the right car and this came up from a Porsche dealer. The only negative was that it had Keyless entry, which I feel is unnecessary and dangerous from the theft point of view.
The question is can this be switched off, leaving the key as a normal central locking key? I have read everything that's online but nothing seems to be permanent. The dealer is meant to be investigating.......im busy buying a faraday box and pouch.....

Never seen or heard a hint of such a possibility.... not hopeful. Welcome anyway!

The current cars are secure against relay theft, and I suspect your is too but there's no harm in securing both keys in Faraday pouches if you want that peace of mind. For belt and braces approach also use a Disklok on the steering wheel (not the bar or hockey stick type).

Forget all these Faraday pouches & discloks on the steering wheel, the sure fire way to secure your Macan is to buy your other half a Range Rover & use that as a decoy! They will always Nick that first.

Not sure on your year of Macan but on my 2022 model the key goes to sleep after a certain time of not moving so relay theft is reduced but the OBD method is stil possible.

The keyless entry can be disabled on my 2022 model but unfortunately only each time you lock it. You have to press two of the three buttons on the key fob and it takes a bit of getting used to, I quite often do this.

Personally, I’d leave the keyless on.
If they want to steal it and can’t access by relay theft, next option is to enter the home, and I would not want that.

Welcome.

If you have a garage clear it of all the accumulated junk and park it out of sight.

Why not remove the dummy key and just use your main key.
