I had them replaced just before the 3 years was up as my OPC told me they aren't covered under the extended warranty.
Could be the tips are regarded as "cosmetic" whereas my brake calliper bolts were "mechanical"?

Looking back, PGB did offer a half price calliper replacement. Took me an hour to DIY rectify instead.

Before... at 2yrs...

Yep, classified as cosmetic. Covered under manufacturer warranty but cosmetic isn't covered under extended.

The tips that you've got are sports tips, I have the same.
I'm always getting the metal/chrome polish out and give them a good sorting. They suffer a bit of pitting, but it's easy gotten rid of. After more than 7 years now, they still shiny.

Thanks all - I'll drop Porsche an email and see what they say re:warranty. I mainly don't want them getting worse and ending up needing replaced at my cost in 2/3 years time...!

that looks like the tips have been "brazed" onto the stainless pipe, nothing to worry about, just apply more heat resistant black paint over the weld.

Thanks - good to know. Yup looks like a brazed joint. Will check that stuff out next if Porsche don't want to replace it!
