What am I doing wrong?? There are that many nobs and buttons on my Macan I'm not sure if I should set a mode. Just been out in snow and have zero grip, thought 4 wheel drive would be good, should I put it in off road mode? I have Air.

Winter tyres would help, I suppose.

A front wheel drive car on winter tyres would be much better.

…or rear wheel drive with a big engine over the top of them works really well too…

4x4 alone doesn't make a car good or safe to drive in snow... it's the tyres that really matter. My rear wheel drive BMW would be far better in the snow on winter tyres than a Macan on summers or even all seasons. Plus these things are heavy... so braking/stopping on inclines can be a worry.

The safest way to drive in the snow is not to!

It was one of those “shall I, shan’t I, f**k it why not” moments and I was amazed just how much traction there was. Dealt with the hill in the village easily!
Not saying it’s a Land Cruiser but this car just continues to amaze me with its versatility 🤷‍♂️

A gentle right foot and no sudden steering wheel motions are as good as it gets in a Macan when there is snow and ice.

Summer tyres do not help at all nor does the lack of the same kind of differential setup and off road modes that there is in a Cayenne.

By contrast the Jag 4wd that I had could go anywhere in snow and ice and it was shod with Summer tyres.

It is just the way it is.

Putting it in Off Road Mode only raises the suspension.

If you live in an area prone to this weather then consider a set of Winter wheels and tyres.

Does the optional torque vectoring plus with the included differential make much difference in snow?
