A 10 year old Macan will have a very small market compared to a 10 year old 911 which people aspire to own and keep for classic/weekend car runs.

According to WBAC my 67 plate Macan S with 42k miles is worth around 47% of the original price which I think is really good. The real challenge would come if I was buying the same car now. Mine would then be worth about 37% of the new price.

I bought my Turbo for cash in Sept 2016, it was new with a reasonable but not excessive set of options for £74,500

WBAC offered £28,400 in January 2024.

So that equates to just over £500 a month depreciation and right on track with my estimate.

Just how much are you PCP folks essentially throwing away each month in interest charges?

As has been said many times before, if you want cheap motoring Do Not buy a Porsche.

Yep, that is the way to go.

Mind you when I get to 80 I may be in a powered mobility scooter and will be burning rubber at the excessive flat out speed of 8mph.

Agreed, never bought a Macan for cheap motoring, that was never going to be the case. However, i did, in part, buy a Macan because i thought at the time that it would depreciate more slowly than other German brands. That was clearly an error of judgement based on the way they are tanking in value of late. I think the numerous price hikes over the last two/three years are going to be what really hits depreciation on the newer Macan's. I very much doubt owners of post 2020/21 Macan's who bought new will ever see something like average depreciation of £500 per month over a 6/7 year ownership period, as owners of 2016/17 cars have. Clearly the Macan has become another German car, mass produced, which loses bundles when you drive it out of the showroom.
