I bought my 2021 Macan S from a main Porsche dealer. It had had one previous owner and was seven months old why I got it.
I had sold it online and the trade buyer came to inspect today. They pulled out because I couldn't explain various yellow and green dots all over various things in the engine. They said it looked like the engine had been replaced and that they'd only seen these sort of markings on salvaged parts.
I've contacted my Porsche dealer for an explanation, but no reply yet.
Can anyone offer any insights or does anyone else's Macan engine have these? If the car has had work, surely Porsche would have seen this when checking it over before resale?
If anyone has a similar age Macan and can post a photo of their engine, I'd be very grateful!
Yellow dots on various parts of the engine - why?

My understanding is that coloured dots are used as part of the factory quality control - when a part is checked the dot is added as evidence and then the dots can all be scanned to ensure the car is assembled correctly and all checks are completed. This is pretty standard in auto production.
It’s dark right now so I can’t look into my Macan to see what markings are visible. Mine was built last November.

Sounds like the dealer wanted an excuse to pull out of the deal.

They drove 2hrs to collect and didn't try and reduce the price - just said they didn't know what the markings were so decided to pull out.Pythongrün wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2024 7:44 pm Sounds like the dealer wanted an excuse to pull out of the deal.

OPC - Official Porsche Centre. My car is in for oil change today, I will ask them, see if they can shed any lightlizmoretti wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 6:49 amSorry, don’t know what an OPC is, and Google didn’t offer any assistance.
They were from an independent “performance car” dealership that appears to deal in Porsche, Ferrari, Range Rover etc.

My Porsche dealer has got back to me - they're QC marks from the factory. Weird how someone who apparently deals with Porsche cars didn't know this...2japs wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 7:17 amOPC - Official Porsche Centre.
