I live in Oakham, Rutland and also in Norfolk. Nearly all of the roads I use are 'A' or 'B' roads in a variety of surface conditions. If you hit the right time the roads can be quite clear and you can really press on, especially early in the morning when we go A47 to Norfolk. I suppose that I am being cautious on my wheel selection because I once had an Audi s4 on the largest optional wheels and it was awful. I sold it after 15 months and lost a fortune. My 997 was on 18" wheels and it was delightful, sensitive with delicate feedback from the road surface, a joy to drive.

Points taken. Typical UK A roads with the option to open up on occasion. I'll be sure to ask and, if we are being taken for a drive, feel. Are you considering PASM or even PASM - Air?

One question I'll ask is if the car was set up for a specific wheel size as a "base"/reference. I know that Audi set suspension up on a base size and tyre and then test others later in development - 18" on the Allroad as an example. Maybe that's why their larger wheel options typically ruin the car!fcooke2014-01-24 19:36:55
