Word has it that Porsche is preparing a 2.0 turbo with 280bhp. While the diesel is imported over from the Volkswagen parts bin (200bhp GTD unit). The petrol engine is said to be under development by Porsche itself, which could mean it will have a boxer layout. I think the Macan is too heavy for a 2.0 unit, but I would seriously be tempted for a BoxsterCayman 2.0 petrol (weekend blast) for 35k.

Buy an E Type / something classic for the weekend, costs less to run than the depreciation, more fund to drive, puts a proper smile on your face, no issues people letting you out and best of all over time they will appreciate (slightly) but certainly not loose money.

Totally agree, that is best option. I'm actually looking for a classic car for my son (4 year old) hand it over to him on 21st....nearly bought a merc pagoda recently, e type are class, but decent one too pricey. Also trying to find a future classic, but nothing stands out they look dated after a while the old school classic cars just look so cool still. Money was no object it would be a original Porsche 356 speedster.

I was looking for a 930 originally, E Types aren't too dear the market players have driven the prices up to ridiculous levels that aren't realistic. There are nice ones out there for £30k, or 356 or Dino replicas - one mate has one and another just ordered. 3.0L Toyota engine in MR2 chassis!! Great fun.
