Not been on the forum since before Christmas so just catching up. When I was doing some important (i.e. for Mrs Jenksho) shopping running around Bristol the Oil level warning came up but said that driving is possible. Having only done 7K miles I thought this was not a good thing so headed to Dock Lovets straight from John Lewis to get it checked as in 12 years of diesels I have never had this happen. I do have friends (yes, really) who have had issues with VW diesels but my Merc, Audi and Beemers have never had this.
Turns out this this was not unusual and it needed 1 litre of oil .... for which I paid £22 for them to add!
I was wondering of anyone else has similar experience of oil usage ?
Also found out that the Macan does not have a physical dipstick and it can take up to 45 mins depending on the engine temp !

Hi jenksho, long time... Mine is on 5500 and the electronic dipstick ( which yes, can take a while) is still showing in the mid green area.....I'm pleasantly surprised as I had anticipated using a litre or so in the first 10000 miles while bedding in. My wife's old 3 series (2.0 petrol admitedly) used a litre in the first 5000 miles and not a drop thereafter!
No dipstick? I guess that is technological advancement for you. Porsche certainly don't want their vehicle owners to be routeing around under the bonnet
... and 7k miles in a new car needing 1 ltr of oil? In modern day terms that is unusual.
Interesting to see what other's experiences are.
When you say it can take 45 mins, is that to check the oil level?
I did 7000 miles in my first Macan diesel and did not need to top up oil. Done over 5000 miles in my second diesel Macan and oil level reading still well into the green zone.
Mine wanted a 'quart' at 7k ish. A lot of my trips were short and it's a Turbo, not a diesel, but oil usage does depend on a number of factors. I didn't pay £22 quid though.
Dunno about the diesel lump, but the Turbo has a dry sump, so a physical dipstick would be a funny shape :)
Used to have 2016 Macan Turbo PHCKCL70
Previously a 2014 Macan Turbo.
Now a 2021 Tesla Model 3 LR
My Turbo has past 9400 miles now with no oil required so far .blagged a free litre of oil to leave in the spare wheel area to inject when the screamer requires it..
My Cayenne used 1L of oil per 6k throughout the time I owned it. My Macan is showing 3/4 full on the "dipstick" at 5k (and it showed the same at 3k).
I have to confess that I owned the Macan for nearly four months before I opened the bonnet. My excuse is that the only thing under there likely to need my attention is the windscreen washer bottle.
Mine's a diesel and has done 8500 miles, it told me it needed a quart a month or two back. I've seen this is not an unusual occurrence based on other forums.
