Just been doing a web search and came across this on a U.S. Macan forum. How true is this as if it is it seriously concerns me

The battery will tend to die. It's easy to research this and see all the threads. This isn't a car where you just leave it a week or two, go on vacation, come back, and just start it. Yes, there will always be some anecdotal story where someone left it for a month and it started fine. Anecdotal stories mean little. There is a reason why this is mentioned in the warranty book and a reason they sell a battery tender in their accessory catalog. Get on a first name basis with it. A battery tender will become your new best friend. Figure out how to use it and plan on using it if the car sits. You also might want to move that car so the tires don't flat spot. It's really not a good idea for it to sit weeks on end.

Left mine in the airport for 2 weeks at a time twice now with no battery issues, but it is petrol so starts easily compared to diesel but no issues after 2 weeks...

Mine's sat in the garage back home for the past 5 weeks with temperatures of -18 at times! I am back in UK at the moment, so I'll let you know if it starts when I get back! Confused

Had a chat with the service manager at our OPC regarding leaving our macan for 5 weeks ,he said that boxer/Cayman batteries usually went flat after 2/3 weeks ,the Macan could be o/k for 4/5 weeks but could not gurantee it would start after that length of time,he recommended a trickle/maintainence Smart charger to keep the battery fully charged so purchased one and it's now coupled up to the Macan.

Next door neighbour went to Singapore for 3 months !!!!

Alarm on his X5 started beeping after 6 or 7 weeks indicating low battery and when he tried to start , not a hope, but his mini countryman started no problem.

All depends on the current drain on the battery (as well as the batteries condition).
