I agree that only by trying this yourself can you decide. It is just a bigger, more expensive and irreversible version of the PS+ discussion. Personally, I would not want PS+ as I want steering feel and weight at 5mph just as I want it at 70mph. Some people can’t believe I wouldn’t want to be able to twirl the wheel like a Nissan Micra when parking. However, if you make a mistake you can retrofit PS+ which you cannot do with PASM so it is worth seeking out with and without.

For what it is worth I do have PASM and air and am very happy with my choices!

Well with both Radas and johnnydrama saying 21” and no PASM gives a great ride.

Me saying said ride is dire.

Polar opposite opinions and hence what works for you is what matters.

If you cannot find a Macan without PASM to test drive then you could team up with either Radas or Johnny for a ride in their PASMless Macans.

From experience:

20" - standard suspension or PASM
21" - air suspension an absolute must

Too many people nowadays go for looks over performance. "My wheels are bigger than yours, therefore my car's better." Big wheels generally ruin a car's performance for many reasons, including increased unsprung weight and less play in the tyre wall. In just about every car model, the second biggest wheel size gives the best handling. I don't see the point in paying more money for worse handling. So if you prefer the design of the 21" wheels, I'd go for air suspension to resolve poorer handling over a smaller size.

+1. My SD on 21” Sports Classics and no PASM rides just fine. When I got it I thought it rode better than my previous SD on 20” Spyders also without PASM. The new facelift model should be better still in view of the changes to the suspension.

IMHO
21s standard suspension perfectly acceptable
21s PASM great compromise
21s on Air and PASM, very smooth but a bit floaty
