Do we have a sense of relative long term durability of these 2 offerings?

As with the case for all diesels, due to the higher operating pressures, the components in a Diesel engine tend to be made to a higher tolerance & hence more durable.

Sold: 2014 Macan Diesel S in Jet Black.
Sold: 2016 Macan GTS in Jet Black.
Cancelled: 2017 Macan Turbo + PP in Jet Black for a RRS.
Ordered: 2019 992 C4S in Jet Black.
To be ordered 2019 Macan Turbo / Turbo S / Turbo + PP. Yeah, it’ll be in Jet Black!

I think all the engines, but definitely the petrols, are relatively untuned. The 340bhp petrol S can knock out 420bhp in other models, so the 3.6 turbo should be good for nearly 500bhp in a tuned state. Even the diesel does 300bhp in the Panamera so all should be fine.
Macan 1 - jet black turbo with 20" RS spyders now sold
Macan 2 - volcano grey GTS with black 20" RS spyders now sold
Macan 3 - dolomite silver GTS loving it
also 981 Boxster S
