Wilmslow sucks !

In nearly two years of Turbo ownership Sport+ has been used once and launch control never.

It really is not needed in a Turbo for the fractional difference in performance times it gives.

When I had my SD I used SC every day but never Launch Control.

After witnessing it at the PEC I didn’t want to put my own car through it.

I experienced launch control on a Macan S at the PEC. It's quite a ****ing thing! Lol! It's a party piece...that's how my instructor explained it. But, he also said that he's never once had a car fail while using it. Just on 1 day, my Macan S performed 8 launch control starts. Says a bit about the reliability of the drivetrain and software!

I use SC often when I’m feeling bad but launch I’ve only done once. It can’t be good for them.
Macan SD Vocano Grey. LEDs, Pano Roof, PSE, Sports Chrono, PASM, Sports Design Mirrors, 21" Sports Classics in Black, lots of other extras.

No doubt a different instructor but mine contradicted that and said they had broken one car as a result of using LC but it was an exception.

Looked at the Tequipment site a few weeks ago and it had the Sports Plus option (£570 ish) available for my SD on it.

Called Porsche Reading to get it done last week, but they said it’s now no longer available. Checked the Tequipment site again, and it’s gone :(

Anyone else had it done on an SD recently? Or know of a potential work around by any chance?

Looks as if sport+ just ended for the diesel engines. Might have something to do with emissions.

Yep, I guessed the same. Was hoping someone might’ve found a Porsche dealer still doing them (I’m clearly clutching at straws!) :)

I know this may be contentious, but if you were considering a Sports+ retrofit, would you not consider an aftermarket remap instead?

I’ve often thought about it for my GTS, but not sure how the Porsche warranty police would take it!
