I don't quite believe that the Macan is less desirable than RR in the context of depreciation.

However the percentage differences are miniscule so perhaps a heirarchy within this small list of the UK's lowest depreciators is mis-leading.

This forum will have better real world, collective experience of Macan depreciation versus the whims of What Car journalists, and their need for story content! Big smile

Find it hard to believe, especially the Audi / BMW figures; I did a very quick and basic " car-wow" quote a few weeks ago (for a factory build TTS roadster) and got 5 virtually instant replies offering me 8-10% discount without even talking to me PLUS a £2750 finance contribution if I took out a PCP.
BMW gave us even more on Mrs Paul's 4 series a couple if years ago.
If I can get over 15% off AND get a 90+ % residual from What Car, then I'll do one a week ........ Paul2017-04-03 14:38:08

Depreciation would actually be higher for the Macan when you add in the must have items.

Poorly written article: Where they state 'Depreciation after year 1/2/3 ' surely they mean 'Retained value after year 1/2/3'. Lazy journalism.

Was looking at a new Audi S3 a few days ago. I could get a new one for the value they're quoting after two years.

Ballcocks

Who commissioned this JLR and Audi?

I traded in the Audi Q3 that I had because nobody was interested in buying it.

New £36K, trade in after two years £21k which by my reckoning was a retained value of 58% and not the 70% What Car says.

I see the "data" is for a 2L Macan which is certainly not a typical Macan in terms of sales.

Mind you, they also include the Tesla Model S60 which according to Autocar is ceasing production due to poor sales. That will really help residuals (I don't think).

I've always thought "What Car" quite a good magazine but this does not look like one of their better efforts.
