We got two fines from Germany a month ago from the same spot on the way out and the return leg. My fine was Euro 20 and Rob's was Euro 30 for driving over the limit by 11 and 17 kilometers respectively.
So be prepared.

I also have heard that the French have plain vehicles - and freelancers in all sorts of stuff!
