Picked up my GTS in March 2017 and generally really pleased with it (although PCM user experience is disappointing so far).
Noticed some minor issues as highlighted to OPC below. Just wondered if anyone else had similar.

Steering wheel

i)
Since reporting the issues below, I have also noticed that there
is significant squeaking and whining noises coming from the steering
wheel when driving and parking. Please could this also be investigated and
rectified as required under the warranty terms.

Courtesy car

i)
From our discussion, my understanding was that the courtesy car
will be provided free of charge because my vehicle is recently purchased new
and under warranty. If this is the case I'd be grateful if a Porsche could be
provided which is in keeping with the type of car I need for business and
personal commitments. Please can you confirm.

Additional information on the faults already listed below:

Surround and reversing camera

i)
The PCM screen for all camera images inexplicably went blank
leaving only the parking sensor indicators when I was trying to park. I tried
switching the engine off and on but this did not work. I had to therefore park
without the cameras. When I returned to my car the next day the cameras
mysteriously began working again. This is not ideal as I do not want camera
fail when they are most needed ie when parking in tight or hazardous spaces or
using the camera junction view when pulling out into a busy but concealed T
junction. These are the scenarios that led me to pay for the reverse and
surround camera option.

Sat Nav

i)
On a recent trip that took me near Manchester Airport, the sat
nav failed to detect or detail a main dual carriageway that I needed to drive
along to get to my final destination. Therefore I don't think the sat nav
software is up to date.

ii)
When inputting an address on the PCM touch screen, it seems to
freeze occasionally and usually at the most inappropriate time ie when
directions and guidance are most urgently needed.

Sorry to hear of your issues JBA + hope you get 'em sorted/answered asap.

FWIW..I've not had any steering wheel squeaks or whines although I did have a door rattle on collection which was quickly sorted a couple of days later.

Courtesy car of required level is something I would expect - be that a better one (911 etc) or even a cheaper one (Boxster etc). Might even be happy with just a "run around job" if it was a short notice and quick repair job and I didn't have far to go - guess all depends on circumstances.

Not had PCM screen going blank at all when should be showing cameras - in fact I use surround view a lot and pleased so far with it.

Guess most factory fit sat navs will be out of date a bit when you collect but sounds like if it wasn't a new dual carriageway there could be an issue with it or the settings you're using. Not had a noticeable freezing when entering sat nav destinations and overall, I'd say although it's not the greatest set up, for me it gets the job done.

Does sound like your GTS needs a check over/fix though for the wheel/camera/Nav + I hope they manage to sort it for you and give you a "spot on" courtesy car while they're doing it!

Hi JBA,
I have experienced the Surround View/Reversing Camera blackout a number of times since taking delivery in January. Very annoying. A quick switch off-on doesn't fix it, but it's always come back in time for the next journey.
Can't say I've experienced your other issues, but do share in your PCM frustrations.
Would be good if you could post your OPC response/action. Thanks!

Interested to hear what was done to fix the steering wheel squeek too. I do believe this is very common and a number of people have not taken the cars back to the dealer yet.
Be good to go in with some info.

No steering wheel squeaks on either of my Macans but know how annoying they can be as was a regular issue with BMWs I have had in the past. Don't have sat nav or parking cameras so not an issue for me.
