I had one fitted to the new GTS when we bought it recently. I negotiated with the sales rep and got it for £1000 extra but I really like it. Very neat installation and as said totally invisible when stowed away and no issues regarding warranty etc.

£2000?
I had one fitted to my Macan GTS for £858 inc VAT from new on 1/3/18. It is a really good system - not that I bought it for towing more for parking protection!

It tucks away neatly as andreas says.

Hi All, Looking to fit a towbar to a 2015 Macan. Don't fancy paying out for an OPC one at nearly 2K. Most seem to require a bumper cut although this Brink states no bumper cut but says you need a new rear diffuser/spoiler.... (Is this one with a door or something?)

https://www.pfjones.co.uk/porsche-macan ... owbar.html

I have seen on this page that it says no bumper cuts and no need to need for a rear diffuser/spoiler change.

https://www.towsure.com/porsche-macan-2 ... gIdtvD_BwE

I did look at trust tow as mentioned on here but all say bumper cuts, even though shortshift says no bumper cut was needed :s

Anyone tried any of these towbars, or know of any others that do not require a bumper cut?
Thanks,

Maybe worth looking on the US Forum - I seem to remember that Stealth Hitches are quite popular over there.

Alternatively, if you wish to retain the ability to return your car to 'as delivered', perhaps consider getting this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-Maca ... SwjARcZU6P

And simply ask the towbar fitter to cut and install the eBay diffuser, keeping the original for refitting when you sell the car.

Thanks mate. I've found a cut out lower spoiler and had a good quote for a detachable westfalia fitted and coded in from a local company in Shrewsbury.

Does anyone know the Gross train weight of a Macan 2.0?

Cheers

Hi,

My wife's just bought a Macan and never gave a thought about how we were going to continue to tow the caravan! Over to me...

On James' recommendation i've bought the exact products referenced above but i'd be extremely grateful if someone could send me James' installation notes as no doubt they're going to be very helpful. I'm also pretty sure that the car has the design pack as the front and rear bumpers are different so hopefully no cutting!

Regards,

Will

I installed a detachable Westfalia one https://www.pfjones.co.uk/porsche-macan ... owbar.html small "diffuser" cut required (visible only from a lower point of view). Excellent quality, installed in one hour "plug-and-play" (except for the cut, which takes some time), all I needed for carrying the bikes together with a Thule carrier (no electrical installation for me, as it is only for the bikes).

Noway I would pay Porsche €3000 for a towbar.

To be legal with bicycles hanging off the rear of a car I thought it had to have a lighting board, so an electrical plug necessary

Thanks for the advice in this thread.

For warranty and cosmetic reasons, we went with the £1800 official towbar in the end. Really happy with it.
