...my highlighting.......look familiar to any diesel owners?mark-yorkshire wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 7:23 pm I do wonder if the new gasoline particulate filters on the petrol engines will be any better than the dpf.
Extract from the Porsche press release for the facelift Macan:
“The soot particles collected in the filter must be burned off from time to time. This is known as regeneration. But it must also work in low outdoor temperatures and on short journeys. In such cases, the engine control unit ensures that the filter heats up by increasing the exhaust gas temperature—for instance, through another combustion or a higher engine speed.
With long periodsof frost and a lot of short drives, a somewhat longer drive can be necessary for regeneration.
“But in real road traffic we can usually get by without these protective measures,” emphasizes Werner. His team put in several hundred thousand test kilometers to put the system through its paces. The result: the cleanest Porsche models of all time”

Yes.
Macanporsche
The answer is .... Well sort of.
It means that your SD has not been able to undertake regenerations itself for whatever reason with the obvious one being driving style.
Speak to your OPC very, very soon before it goes into limp home mode.

I’ve not had any warnings or lights prior to this.
I’ll take it for a run tonight to see if I can clear it, will the message go away on it’s own assuming the run is successful?
Well at least I managed 4 weeks of the new car before it came on

It should do. Make sure you have at least 1/2 tank of fuel and use manual mode to keep the revs above 2500 continually.

Thanks Paul.
Could anyone point me in the direction of the long blurb of text which explains at what point regeneration happens please?

And since you've an empty tank at the moment, fill with Shell V-Power diesel or BP Ultimate diesel. Avoid supermarket fuel!
