I have had my SD for 2 years with 17,000 miles. The software update has been done. I took it easy for the first 1000 miles. Rarely / never use manual gears. Don't do a lot of motorway driving but also don't do too much city driving.

No problems with the dpf (as yet!) Hopefully Porsche will identify what is causing the problems.
This may be slightly off-topic but my car is coming up to two years old (18.5k miles so far) and will need an oil change/intermediate service in the near future. Do you have any information on what the software upgrade is designed to do and whether it is compulsory or optional?
I had my first service carried out in May when the DME software "upgrade" was meant to be carried out at the same time as the fuel filler pipe warranty work but because the fuel filler pipe part was not available the dealer did not do the software upgrade. Both now planned before end of this month but must say am a bit nervous of the software upgrade as car is running just fine i.e. Good fuel economy, low ad blue consumption and no issues with dpf .

Don't think anyone received any accurate information on the upgrade. I'm sure I was told various software upgrades including PDK, The upgrade is probably not compulsory but probably recommended. As I've said before I didn't really notice any difference but the PDK change from drive to reverse is possibly quicker,

Just got my Macan Diesel back from Porsche Leeds. Following my first service last month it today had the following warranty/campaign work carried out:
1. Re-program DME control unit - campaign number WG22
2. Replace cap for tank filler neck - campaign number WF453.
3. Replace missing AC low pressure valve cap

Excellent service. Car collected from my office 18 miles away from Leeds. Given a new 5 series estate as a courtesy car but did not need as my car returned in same day.

Initial impressions that PDK smoother and steering lighter . Will see if the software update affects mpg , adblue consumption and dpf regeneration.

As compensation for my inconvenience Porsche Leeds filled my diesel tank back to full and it was nearly empty when it left me this morning so that must be at least £75 worth.

I know its a Skoda, but my eldest got his official software update letter through this am; Skoda are happy to put in writing that the update will have no bearing on mpg / performance etc etc...

That was a nice touch filling your fuel tank.

The DPF problem is not just a Macan problem I believe. A friend has a works van (15 reg) which he uses for a 120 mile daily commute. Ideal for a diesel you would think. I was very surprised to hear that he has had the DPF warning and engine management lights on several times. A good thrashing clears the problem.

The free full tank of diesel was compensation for not doing the work when it was booked in for its service.

So yet again the DPF warning has appeared, 5th time in approx 8 weeks after being with the OPC on 2 occasions. The OPC advised me to give it a run every week which i have (approx 100 miles of motorway) and use non supermarket fuel which i have (BP). To be quite honest, the whole Porsche experience is poor, i didn't expect to buy a Porsche and it be returning to the OPC literally every other week. The OPC advised me to call Porsche assist and they will recover my vehicle and source a courtesy car. The courtesy car offered, a Mini. Is this really acceptable, i bought a Porsche because i want to drive a Porsche, not a mini. Really starting to test my patience the whole experience !!!
