My GTS is not yet a year old with 11k on the clock.
Possibly another year before the 1st service which means another 12 months with the same oil. Not had to top up so all oil is original.
Apart from “EddieTerry” anyone here changed their oil and filter before the due time or do we believe the “long life” claims?

Haven't done it yet but will be changing oil at 12 months. You will find much debate on this subject in the past with strong views for and against.

Thanks Nick
I did search for this subject but must have looked in the wrong area of the "new" website.
I'll have another look - a little deeper.

Use " oil change" as the advanced search term - some good views on pages 6 / 7 onwards of the results...

Now here's a thing.
I've got my SD booked in for its first 20k service on 19th of this month. I'm on 18.6k but now I've just had a warning pop up saying oil change due in 700 miles, giving me 19,300. I'm assuming it's safe to ignore this as a glitch and just assume 20k, as service intervals?

Yes, that'll be fine. The service is due 'around' 20k so as long as you don't do another 10k between now and the 19th it won't be an issue. And the oil can wait till then too, it just means you'll have the warning up until OPC cancel it at the service.

Thanks Nick.

I was a bit worried, probably my OCD working overtime.

That's fine Pete, showing spot on.

I had the low level warning and I put a litre in at 7k and then another about 12k. It seems to have settled now and not using much, if any.

I am in the same camp as Nick, go for the oil change, it makes Engineering sense to change on about 1 year old or dependent on mileage and how heavy the right boot has been.
