I changed the oil and filter on our Turbo at 12 months / 9000 miles.
It does lots of town driving and I got it done while the Sport Plus was retrofitted. £300 is steep for what it is but I wanted piece of mind - we'll keep it for 3-5 years.

Are you planning to get a Porsche dealer to change your oil at one year or another garage and are you planning to change the filter at the same time - genuine Porsche one obviously.

I topped up our SD last weekend (16k). The orange 'top-up oil' warning light came on and caused me a little concern as I always check the level and it was always green on the e-dipstick. It would appear that the system is not linear, but more like a switch. It's perfectly normal for an engine to use a fair drop of oil in the early miles and then to settle down. I had an oil change done at 1500 miles, just to be on the safe side.JKNHants wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2017 1:41 pm What's this then: an engine burning oil at 1L per 2.5k miles and then nothing! Difficult to imagine what's going on with cylinders/gaskets that can be considered "normal". I've experienced little oil burn over the 12 K miles so far but always on the lookout!

Performance was awesome. Drove over to Llangollen (around 80 miles each way). Weather was appalling but the car stuck to the road like glue. It was on 20" wheels with strips of liquorice for tyres so the ride was definitely firm. 70mph in second was impressive.
When I was stuck in traffic, I remembered why I gave up on manual gearboxes . Probably a sign of advancing age but I got fed up with the exhaust noise by the end of the day. Got back in the Macan and it just went about its business without any fuss. Glad I had the Cayman experience though

Sounds fun!
I had a Boxster as a loaner a while back, but it was pre-718. Looking forward to borrowing a 718 for the day next, ideally a Cayman.
I notice that the loan car paperwork that we sign states a maximum of 100 miles, but I did over 400 miles one day in a Panamera SD and the OPC were pretty relaxed about it.

On this topic is anyone using the Mobil 1 5W-50 ?
It has Porsche approval, the only downside I can think of could be a very marginal increase in fuel consumption.

When I got my SD back after its first service, the "distance to next oil change" was showing 10900 miles. No problem I thought it will go out as I run the car. After 290 miles (250 of which was on motorway/dual carriageway) it's now showing 10300 miles. It does seem as if the extended mileage to first service is not being repeated. Has anyone else experienced this?
If anything, you'd expect it to be the other way around: lower distance to first service then extended.
