Our new Macan GTS is arriving in October and I am curious to know what fuel people are putting in the GTS model.

Does it really make a huge difference using the high octane Super Unleaded fuel for an everyday driver that my wife will be driving mostly to work and back (approximately 10-12 miles each way with most of it on the motorway)? I have always used Super Unleaded for my 911's and 944 Turbo's but these are weekend occasional cars that I drive in a more spirited manner 8-)

I doubt you would notice any real world difference, but I've always used Super UL in my 911s anyway. Preferably Shell.

We always use Shell V power as it talks about needing 98 RON fuel. with 95 RON doable, but with reduced power.

How much of that is sales talk however i dont know. I just know she;s goes like stink with it in!!

Only an S but 98 whenever possible. We got caught out in France in June when we had no option but top up with some budget 94, a good 10-15 cents cheaper than the norm so presumably 10% ethanol. The consumption dropped by about 2.5%.

Always use Shell V-Power or BP Ultimate. It says on the filler cap 98 RON so that's what I give it although no idea how much difference, if any, it makes.

I running mine on Super Unleaded but it's getting Tesco's finest or whatever else is cheapest. I don't buy the vpower / BP ultimate snake oil stuff unless someone can point be to some independent science to back it up.

Mine has run (almost) exclusively on Esso super-duper whatever it's called. " Only" 97 RON not 98, but the local Esso station gives me 2 p a litre off so I can sort if justify it to Mrs P (and it says so on the fuel cap too!)

Many differing opinions if you have a quick search on previous posts; dealerships seem to put in standard 2* rather than the recommended 4* / 5* (showing my age😉)

Our local OPC use standard UL too. But that's an obvious choice when its a direct business cost for them. I'd still rather use premium in my own car. It's cleaner and more efficient. Whether it makes a significant difference over 10 or 20K miles I've no idea, but I'd prefer not to experiment.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll start with Super UL and try a few tanks of UL after a while to see if it makes much difference (or may even try alternating for each flll up).

I use Shell super unleaded but more for the quality of fuel/detergents than mpg.
