It will be an awesome car regardless of wheel and tailpipe choice!
I know what you mean about the 19" wheels. I'm a sucker for the look of a larger wheel, but I do appreciate that my Panamera would be even more comfortable on 19" or 20" wheels.
I will watch your spec with interest as you approach lock down, Cowan!
back to the Macan fold.. sort of

I was watching Nick Murray on YT the other day and he's right about the quad tailpipes - they do make the 911 look wider at the rear.

that's what I thought as well, and if the sound outside is anything to go by in his clip the standard system sounded nicer if not louder than the sports system. The C2S I drove on Monday had the sports exhaust and at anything below 3-4k rpm there was not much coming through to the cabin, which I don't mind when you're not in the mood to give it the beans. Hence I don't see the reason for speccing it.happy days wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2017 8:59 am I was watching Nick Murray on YT the other day and he's right about the quad tailpipes - they do make the 911 look wider at the rear.

Hi,
Final spec for my 911.. I've given in to the larger wheels WingCo... This is going to be a long 6 months!!
http://www.porsche-code.com/PJKC8Y46
They say you shouldn't wish your life away.. but I've lusted after a 911 since I was 6 and never thought I'd be in the position to have the chance of owning one..
Must admit though.. I am enjoying driving the Macan SD more than the Cayenne despite the obvious lack of oompf .
Anyway, a good weekend to all.

Really nice, Cowan!
20" wheels, sport tailpipes... Looks great - classy. I wonder what the Sport-Tex seating material will be like. Saw a positive review of it online in a 718 Cayman.
Is that 'final' spec or just 'latest' spec?
Not long now before that 911 magic!

At the age of 43 my circumstances at work changed which meant I no longer needed the Cayenne and my wife had already had the X5 by this time.. and since my kids are 5 and 2.5yrs old, they fit nicely in the back of a 911.. for the time being. Financially, the money was probably best spent elsewhere, but you only live once and the mortgage is more than manageable. If I was to go down the sensible route I'd have to wait quite a few years to build up the funds again. + plus will the kids still fit properly.. given I am 6ft 3 and my wife is 5ft 7..... Put into perspective.. my dad (68) has been retired since he was 47, and my mother still won't let him buy a 911 despite his own history with TVR.... you can imagine how popular I am currently..... NOT!

You'll have to let your Dad have a go in your 911.

I bought my first. 911 at 43. Kids were 3 and 5.. Sold my second 911 at 49 to buy the macan, mostly as the kids had grown out of the 911's
You have a perfect 5-6 year window where it'll work, so enjoy it.
Like you my dad isn't allowed the car he wants but can easily afford.
